How to prepare home version of espresso martini cocktail?

In these days when cafes and nightclubs are closed, there are no events nor big gatherings, but still you can enjoy in a good cocktail at home. Below you can find a short description of how you can prepare an espresso martini by yourself!

Have you heard a story of this drink? Espressso martini was designed by Richard Bradsell in the 1980s. The story goes like this, a young lady approached Richard, who was at the bar saying: "Wake me up and then f ** k me up!" Richard immediately reached for a cup of fresh espresso, coffee liqueur and vodka which at the time was one of the most popular drinks and made a cocktail known today as Espresso martini.

For this occasion, we have slightly modified the recipe for making espresso martini and have used:
• Aviation gin,
• coffee with fruit notes from Ethiopia, this time it was a specialty coffee roasted by the Berlin roastery Fjord coffee which you can find on the web shop Karibu Kaaawa,
• amaretto,
• sugar syrup,
• almond biscuits.

In order that everyone is able to prepare this beverage at home, we have replaced espresso coffee with a moka machine that most of you have at home . Moka was invented a hundred years ago by Alfonso Bialetti. How to prepare moka, while getting coffee imbued with the required aromas and cream, read our recipe in which we described the preparation of coffee using a moka machine in more details.

In addition to the above ingredients, you will also need a cocktail shaker. In a shaker, put gin, coffee prepared in moka machine, amaretto and sugar syrup and mix all the ingredients for about 30 seconds. The result will be a fine frothy drink. Serve the espresso martini in a pre-chilled martini glass. You can watch the video on the Instagram profile of Karibu Kaaawa

And that would be all! Enjoy this refreshing drink at home gatherings with friends !
